据Block Club Chicago报道，芝加哥罗耀拉大学两名研究生在课程项目中开发了新的手机APP，可以向芝加哥交通系统内的乘客实时更新电梯设备是否可用的状态。这两名学生是芝加哥罗耀拉大学软件工程的学生，在收到课程项目的作业后，打算开发一个对社区居民有用的手机APP。于是他们开发了“Elevate Chicago”APP，向使用者发送地铁L站的电梯是否可用的情况。芝加哥地铁线路中约有70%的站点设有电梯设备，但两名学生发现电梯故障不可食用的情况时常发生。因此这个手机APP可以自动推送信息，让使用者知道自己想要去的站内电梯是否可用。

A class project undertaken by two Loyola University Chicago graduate students has resulted in a smartphone app that alerts Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) riders when elevators are broken down at the rail system's "L" stations, Block Club Chicago reports. When Tyler Arndt and Sam Siner, students in Loyola's graduate software engineering program, were assigned a class project, they focused on creating an app that would be useful to people in the community. Their idea was "Elevate Chicago," an app that informs people when elevators are out of service at “L” stations. about 70% of the stations have elevators, but the two said breakdowns are common. The Elevate Chicago app will tell riders if the elevators at their preferred stations are out of service, but it also offers push notifications, which give users the information without having to open the app.
