A raised pedestrian bridge between Park MGM and Showcase Mall on the Las Vegas Strip is expected to open before New Year’s Eve following two previous delays in July and November, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. The source says the latest delay was due to unexpected utility issues and acquiring the escalators that serve the bridge. Clark County Office of Public Communications spokesman Dan Kulin said that the units were manufactured by thyssenkrupp. “Acquiring the elevators and escalators for the pedestrian bridge project took about 60 days longer than we anticipated,” he shared. “There’s a significant amount of development occurring in our community now, and we believe that played a role in the delay.”
